Sewer Department (Water Pollution Control Facility)

The Thomaston Sewer Department is responsible for annual billing and collection of approximately 3,000 bills for sewer usage. Our billing is based on a per unit basis for residential usage, for commercial billing it is based on annual water meter consumption.  Billing is done in arrears and is always sent out the last week in December, due by Feb 1st to avoid any interest.  

Permits for sewer connections and/or repairs are also issued from our office.

Fat, oil and grease (FOG) reports are also collected from commercial food preparers annually at our office.  Fats, oils and grease wash can cause sewer backups, blocked pipes or backups so they need to be cleaned and reported.
