1/12/2022 - Special Town Meeting Tonight

TOWN OF THOMASTON

WARNING OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING

JANUARY 12, 2022 @ 7:00 P.M.

TOWN HALL – LENA MORTON GALLERY

 

            The electors and those persons eligible to vote in town meetings of the Town of Thomaston, Connecticut, are hereby WARNED AND NOTIFIED that a Special Town Meeting will be held in the Town Hall, 158 Main Street, Thomaston, Connecticut, in the Lena Morton Gallery, on January 12, 2022, at 7:00 P.M. for the following purposes:

 

  1. As recommended by the Board of Finance, to appropriate of an amount not to exceed $24,733.14 to the Town’s Solid Waste and Recycling fund for the prior fiscal year and to transfer said amount as follows: $5,503.31 from the Town’s Contingency fund and $19,269.83 from the Town’s Legal fund.

     

  2. As recommended by the Board of Finance, to appropriate an amount not to exceed $117,000.00 from the Town’s American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) funds for the purchase of replacement air handlers in the Opera House portion of the Thomaston Town Hall.

     

  3. As recommended by the Board of Finance, to appropriate an amount not to exceed $350,849.00 from the Town’s ARPA funds for the purchase of a 2023 Freightliner 114SD basin truck for the Thomaston Department of Public Works.

     

  4. As recommended by the Board of Finance, to appropriate an amount not to exceed $210,000.00 from the Town’s ARPA funds for the purchase of a primary effluent pump and a sludge pump for the Thomaston Water Pollution Control Authority.

     

  5. As recommended by the Board of Finance, to appropriate an amount not to exceed $118,590.00 from the Town’s ARPA funds for the purchase of five ventilation units, for installation and use at Black Rock School.

     6.     As recommended by the Board of Selectmen, the Interlocal Agreement for Animal Control Operations between the Town of Thomaston and Town of Plymouth that was made and entered into on December 30, 2014 is amended and shall renew automatically year to year, unless either party notifies the other in writing to terminate or make changes to this Agreement on or before January 1.  This amendment is pending Town of Plymouth approval.
