The Highway Department will be performing its annual curbside leaf collection program November 8 through December 3 or until the first snowfall, whichever comes first. Pickup will follow our trash collection schedule as follows:
All streets whose trash pickup is on a Monday and Tuesday (combined)
leaf pickup will begin week of Nov. 8
All streets whose trash pickup is on a Wednesday
leaf pickup will begin week of Nov. 15
All streets whose trash pickup is on a Thursday and Friday
leaf pickup will begin week of Nov. 22
During the week of November 29 – December 3, the Highway Department will conduct a final pickup for any households they may have missed in previous weeks, weather permitting.
All leaves MUST be bagged in biodegradable brown paper bags and MUST be placed curbside for collection by the Highway Department. Leaves placed in plastic bags will not be picked up.
Should you miss your designated pickup week, you have to bring them to the transfer station site located on Old Waterbury Road free of charge. The hours of the transfer station are as follows:
Every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
